Statement
Creative art and psychotherapy
have played an integral part in my adult life. I have always been
fascinated by the rich inner language of symbols, abstract conceptions,
dreams and imagery from the subconscious. Developing such imagery
by giving it form seems, to me, to be the beginning of a healing
process.
My aims are to develop and promote
my particular art form. To challenge and cross the perceived boundaries
between craft and fine art. For as long as I can remember I have
been fascinated by the texture, make-up and construction of all
materials and fabrics, whether natural or man-made. My earliest
influences in fabrics, were from antique Welsh quilts. I studied
their construction and spent several years restoring decayed and
damaged quilts and fabrics. My work has developed over the years,
the element of texture has always been of vital importance. |

"It
is my hope that the viewer will become involved with the
collective texture, colour and tactile qualities that are
contained within my work"
